2020

2020 marks a shifting of space, place and self. 

 

A transitional year. 

 

A long breath. 

 

Themes explored include; the self (my, your, and painting), home, comfort, isolation, still life, rhythm, and balance. All through a filter of object based painting. 

 

With a particular focus on materially metaphorical paintings, works that re-present their subject through their materiality. Embodying the image. 

 

“In many ways I see myself as a philosopher (in the traditional sense of the word), who uses the vehicle of art, because words are both limiting and useful, and I believe that art is one of the best places to explore an object:object paradigm. A place of deeper interaction between human and non-human objects.”
