The Studio (2014/15)

This project can be grouped into two main interests, beginning with an interest in the considered exterior of the building housing my studio during the first year BA Fine Art.

A process beginning with a series of photographs of the immediate environment, these works dissect the visual information to create abstract forms and compositions. Highlighting the ignored and forgotten places around us. This project marks the start of my fascination with questioning what art is.

Considered exterior

Through this exploration I became interested in the incidental interior of the studios, and the combination of the two. Embracing the beauty and unedited concept of things considered unworthy of note. This shift in focus marks the start of my interest in the incidental and unconsidered.

The area where the work is created directly informs the pieces which are explored through a dissection of information into psychical processes and presentations.
